If my final proofreading pass doesn’t run into any major issues that derails it, I might be able to get Keen Sense ready for release as early as this weekend.
So that’s my goal now, but if I fall short, Sense should hit Amazon by the end of next week. I should be able to finish what’s left while on vacation, so that shouldn’t impact publication too much.
The scope of Andy and Oscar’s adventure has grown so much since the first draft, and it covers lots of ground in a fairly short span unlike Spark.
As I’ve mentioned, Oscar is a healthcare professional. I had fun writing Oscar’s medical background and getting to combine some knowledge from my profession into my writing.
Since pharmacy is my other field I tried to stick to the guidelines for care while being true to Oscar’s training and not delving too far down medical rabbit holes. I wanted to give a broad view of Oscar’s skill set without bogging down the narrative with medical minutiae.
Hopefully I struck a good balance there. And since psion medicine is part of the world building, that ties into how things are presented too. I had fun figuring out how psion medicine functions.
Actually, in a deleted scene Elliott and Oscar get into a conversation about psion medicine and outcomes research, which I will probably put up on my Patreon when I get back from vacation, if not sooner. So if that interests you, here’s a link.
Andrew and Oscar are almost ready to see the light of day, and I am excited to get to share them with you.
