New Ground Cover Reveal

In the spirit of staying more on top of blog posts, here is the cover for New Ground.

Henry, Dana and William have been a joy to write. Dana and William are an established poly couple when the book opens. This is the story of them embracing Henry into their family and helping him navigate a precarious family situation of his own.

Definitely a bit of a ‘poor little rich boy’ trope. Henry is the psion son of a prominent anti-psion senator, you may remember his name from Clear Sight. His emergence as a psion shakes up the cause of psions rights in a big way, and he is still dealing with the fallout from that in this book.

Despite his wealth and power, Henry is adrift and William gives him purpose both as his anchor and primary link and as his Daddy. The daddy kink comes into play mostly in a caretaking role, there is some chastity play and orgasm denial. Henry has a major praise kink and more than a little baggage from people he should have been able to trust.

As to Dana, ey is a vet tech and aspiring to be among the first psions to become a fully certified veterinarian in the US. Ey is also the first character I’ve written with neopronouns, because ey/em best reflected who Dana is as a person. Ey is genderqueer and experiences aspects of both ends of the gender binary in varying degrees. Ey also deals with mental health issues (unrelated to being trans) that have never been fully dealt with for largely financial reasons.

Will is the stoic provider for both Dana and Henry, but in different ways. Dana and Henry have a fun dynamic to explore as metamours moving toward a relationship of their own. And with Dana and William, it was fun to write a couple who had been together a long time and who understand each other with the intimacy of having love each other for a long time. Henry brings in all kinds of new relationship feels. Basically, I had a blast writing their relationship and the story of Henry learning how to stand on his own took all three characters on a ride.
