New Ground released this week. I am excited to share Henry, Dana and William with you all. I had a great time writing their love story and I hope you all enjoy reading it too.
When I started the story, I went in knowing that Henry was head over heels in love with William as his anchor. Henry was an important catalyst in the events at the end of Clear Sight, just by existing and I wanted to tell his story.
The first thing, other than his family and public history, that I knew about Henry was that he trusted Will completely. I wasn’t sure how Dana, Will’s long-time lover, fit into that dynamic at first. Turned out, Dana had plenty to say about that. Ey just kind of came to life and showed me how Henry fit into the picture, and how ey interacted with both William and Henry.
Dana was my first character who uses neopronouns, and ey was a delight to get to know. As one of the first psions to become a veterinarian, ey kind of likes to break new ground, so I think ey’d like that distinction. I hope y’all love em as much as I do.
